About The AEO Report
Independent editorial on the AI search era — for the people signing the checks.
The AEO Report is independent editorial research on Answer Engine Optimization — the discipline of getting brands cited, mentioned, and recommended by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude.
We exist because the AEO category lacks what every emerging discipline needs: a trade publication of record. Every other site in the space is either a tool company writing about its own product, an SEO incumbent recycling old advice, or a solo Substack with no programmatic depth. We're built to be none of those.
Editorial principles
- Independent.
- We don't sell an AEO tool. We don't take vendor money for editorial placement. When we recommend a tool, it's because we tested it.
- Buyer-first.
- We write for the people deciding what to buy or build, not the practitioners learning what an acronym means. Our default reader is a CMO, VP Marketing, or agency owner with budget authority.
- Decision-grade.
- Every piece ends with a recommendation, a benchmark, or a checklist. We don't ship "it depends" essays. Our content makes you ready to act before the next planning cycle.
- Methodologically transparent.
- When we publish data — prompt sweeps, brand visibility scores, vendor comparisons — we publish the methodology too. You should be able to replicate our findings.
